It is quite present in the Iberian Peninsula, from 50 to 2500m. In warm areas, lowland is polivoltino (from mid-April to October) and bivoltine in colder places. In males the wings are gray-brown with black polka dots and the inside of a dark brown, while females have the upper inner brown and orange bottom. It can be found in several areas: flowering meadows, dry brush, clear moisture, etc.. The caterpillar feeds on Rumex, preferably R. acetosa.
